The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has posed a variety of challenges to everyone across the globe, and cyber security is one of them. With the increased cyber security risks and breaches from remote working, the Privafam has been busy as ever attending to the increased number of requests for cyber security audits and services related to remote working and bringing SMEs towards ISMS Certification.
Amidst the hectic but exciting times, our consultants also curated insightful blog posts – on safe practices in running SLL test, and PDF Generator, and shared their thoughts on staff involvement in a company’s cyber security practices. Check them all out in our blog.
As the end of 2021 draws near, join us in catching up on what we have been up to this year!
Recapping Our Events
Despite the restrictions brought by the pandemic, there’s no stopping Privasec from joining significant events across the world to share cyber security insights!
Recapping some of the big 2021 events that saw Privasec’s participation:
- SINCON 2021 – CXO Brief
- ‘Play, Learn, Hear’ Webinar by Singapore Computer Society (SCS)
- FLIP Conference 2021 by The Law Society of NSW
- SGInnovate’s PowerX First Networking Session
- GovWare Conference 2021
- OWASP 20th Anniversary Event Celebration
Besides external events, we were glad to have organised a few events on our own amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. In August, we held an online workshop that delved into clarifying the misconceptions of ISO 27001 and introducing red teaming exercises according to CORIE/ AASE guidelines. It was an engaging session where our team met a lively crowd and exchanged many questions and thoughts which benefited the participants.
In the following month, we organised a panel discussion where the panelists shared their perspective on the different aspects of the crypto-specific compliance journey for the Payment Services Act (PSA) license, which includes Monetary Authority of Singapore Technology Risk Management (MAS TRM) guidelines, and Know Your Customer (KYC)/ Anti-Money Laundering regulations.
To round up the year, in collaboration with Association of Information Security Professionals (AiSP), we organised a webinar that had esteemed industry professionals from cyber security and healthcare/ MedTech industries to share their perspectives on the road to ISO 27001 Certification.
Celebrating our wins
We are proud of the vibrant and harmonious work environment we have built for our Privafam, and are immensely grateful for the awards and nominations as they affirm Privasec’s commitment to the industry and our clientele. Privafam is proud to be the winner of the following awards:
Under this category, we are proud to be recognised as an SMB organisation who has helped engage the general community and other businesses to promote and improve cyber security capabilities and maturity in the sector.
We are happy that 94% of Privafam say we are a great place to work compared to 55% of employees at a typical Australia-based company! Many stated we are a safe place for them to be themselves and there are equal opportunities for everyone to get special recognition.
